Our Wedding

Jackson and Kansas met in high school. In February 2017, Jackson noticed Kansas was liking all of his tweets and slid into her DM's with the password to his fan club - his phone number. They have spoken to each other every day since..Their relationship hit a major turning point in the fall of 2018, when Jackson left Lawrence for Los Angeles a few weeks before Kansas left for New York. They stuck together and found ways to connect 2800 miles apart, primarily by playing Battleship over Facetime and texting about NBA games (Kansas was a massive Sixers fan at that time)..The first few years of college were hard as they faced distance, a 3-hour time difference, and busy schedules. Jackson's schedule was even fuller after he started his job with the Memphis Grizzlies in May 2019..March 2020 brought global difficulty, but it also brought them back together geographically. They made up for lost time and their bond was strengthened through the unexpected time they had together..In May 2022, they had their bachelor's degrees and could be together full time again. Kansas and Jackson moved into an apartment in West Hollywood and then, later on, a tiny bungalow in Echo Park. In Echo Park they adopted their first cat, Mr. Baby Boy..In September 2024, it became clear that the two needed to make a major relocation for Jackson's career. By December, a new lease was signed for an apartment in Tennessee. Kansas, Jackson, and Mr. Baby made their way to Memphis..Kansas did not have big plans for their first Valentine's Day in Memphis just a few months later. She came home from work expecting an empty apartment, but walked in to a different scene. Jackson set up candles and sprinkled rose petals down the hallway for a completely unexpected proposal (really, Kansas had no idea!)..Since then, they adopted another kitten, Willie Billie, Jackson got promoted, Kansas got into grad school (with a fellowship!) and they have worked hard to plan a beautiful celebration to share with everyone on September 5. They can't wait to see you there!

It will be too early in the year for basketball, but you can still take the time to learn about the history of the sport at KU. Open M-F 10-5, tours only on Saturdays.
